Wicomico County Recent Arrests
Booking in Wicomico County runs through the Department of Corrections. Its Central Booking Unit processes every arrest pending judicial review. The Wicomico County Detention Center at 411 Naylor Mill Road holds both pretrial detainees and people serving county sentences. From there, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Inmate Search serves as the main live source. It is a current-custody roster only. The roster does not archive everyone arrested by the Sheriff, Salisbury Police, Fruitland Police, or Delmar Police. Other agencies are left out too. The county publishes no separate booking feed. No 24-hour, 48-hour, 72-hour, or weekly list exists. Nor does the roster state a refresh time, a posting lag, or a weekend schedule. Processing, judicial review, and a roster appearance are three separate events. A missing name proves nothing. It says nothing about release, dismissal, or whether an arrest ever happened.
| Question | Best source | Coverage |
|---|---|---|
| Who is shown now? | WCSO Inmate Search | Current WCDC custody |
| Who was booked today? | 24 Hour Arrests | Same-day fallback; no date-bounded feed |
| What happened over several days? | Arrest Log | Roster, agency releases, news, and records |
| Has custody changed? | VINELink Check | One person’s status and alerts |
Search the Wicomico Arrest Roster
The WCSO roster is the fastest official starting point. It works for anyone thought to be in county custody. A “Type to Search” field sits at the top. Name cards follow, each with “View Charges,” “Notify Me of Status Change,” and either a photo or a placeholder. The county publishes no field specification. Read labels exactly as shown. Do not read bond terms, release decisions, or dates into fields that never state them.
| Roster element | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Name search | Identity label requiring spelling and identity verification |
| Detail link | A portal route, not necessarily a labeled booking number |
| View Charges | Charges, not final dispositions |
| Photo or placeholder | Publication is not universal; a missing image proves nothing |
| Notify Me | A VINE status route, not an arrest history |
Use the roster in this order:
- Search the verified name and record the check time because the population changes.
- Open a likely result carefully and distinguish charges, image state, and WCDC custody.
- If no result appears, check the municipal agency, court, or records route; release, transfer, lag, spelling, jurisdiction, or protected status can explain an absence.
- Use VINELink when release or transfer alerts, rather than a historical record, are needed.
The official Sheriff site links a mobile app carrying inmate search, alerts, news, resources, and tips. It offers no deeper archive and no faster updates. It is not an emergency channel. The official inmate-search screen shows the current county-custody interface itself.

That screen documents the search controls, not a fixed list of people or a promised posting schedule. The official Sheriff Android listing covers app-based roster and alert access.

The app adds a second door to the same web roster. It creates no separate booking feed. Does a blank search mean release? No. A transfer, processing lag, spelling mismatch, protected status, jurisdiction issue, or technical glitch can all hide a name. Verify with WCDC at 410-548-4850 or the proper custodian.
Where Wicomico Records Are Published
Official channels belong first in every search. News sites and aggregators can supply discovery clues, but their copies lag, omit outcomes, or keep an old photo long after the live roster moves on. Calls-for-service data track dispatch activity, not bookings.
| Channel | Photos? | Status and use |
|---|---|---|
| WCSO roster | Sometimes | Official current WCDC custody |
| Municipal records/media | Varies | Official agency report or release |
| Maryland Case Search | No routine mugshot | Official court trail |
| WBOC, WMDT, DelmarvaNow | Story-dependent | News, not a complete log |
| RecentlyBooked | May display | Unofficial copied snapshot |
| Busted Newspaper, Mugshots.com | May display | Unofficial, unavailable or stale |
WBOC’s Wicomico news section illustrates story-driven arrest coverage.

News photos often show scenes or evidence rather than booking portraits. Confirm every report with the agency and the court. The RecentlyBooked Wicomico page refreshes several times a day. That cadence belongs to the aggregator, not WCSO. Busted Newspaper lists Wicomico but offers no working county page. Mugshots.com’s county section leans on old material. Arrests.org and Mugshots.zone carry no verified Wicomico section. None of them is authoritative.
Recent Arrests by City
Municipal police often hold the arrest or incident record even when county custody is checked at WCDC. Population rank says nothing about arrest volume.
- Salisbury Recent Arrests: Salisbury Police maintains media and records routes; county detention generally leads to WCDC.
- Fruitland Recent Arrests: Fruitland Police publishes a records form but no city booking roster was located.
- Delmar Recent Arrests: Delmar Police serves Maryland and Delaware, so confirm the state side first.
WCSO covers the whole county, yet the arresting department keeps records that never become a permanent jail entry.
What a Wicomico Arrest Record Shows
Four documents, four keepers. A booking record, police report, roster card, and court docket are related but distinct. Central Booking creates the intake record, the arresting agency holds its own file, WCSO publishes the roster, and Maryland courts carry the case from there.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name | Identity requiring verification |
| Portal, inmate, booking, CID, or report ID | A source-specific identifier |
| Arrest or booking date | Different events, neither necessarily the posting time |
| Charges | Charges subject to amendment or dismissal |
| Bond/release | A custody or court decision only when stated |
| Photograph | An image that may be withheld or absent online |
| Facility/status | County, state, federal, or immigration custody |
| Disposition | The later judicial result |
- Booking
- Administrative intake after arrest, separate from guilt.
- Bond
- A judicial release or custody determination.
- Disposition
- The court’s recorded outcome.
- Expungement
- A process that can remove eligible records.
- Detainer
- An authority affecting custody or transfer, not a conviction.
Wicomico County Mugshots and Booking Photos
Photos on the official Wicomico roster are inconsistent. Some entries show a face. Others show a placeholder. No county policy promises that every arrest in Wicomico County comes with a public image, explains which booking photos appear, or says how long one stays online. The County Inmate Information page covers mail, money, property, telephone, and visitation logistics. It is not a mugshot archive. A missing-image box also tells you nothing on its own, since the photo may have been withheld, lost, or simply never published through that interface.
Want an older booking photo? Request it separately from the booking record itself. Give the person's name, the date range, and the arresting agency. Then ask whether the photograph is kept apart from the record, whether an electronic copy can be sent, and which exemption applies if the answer is no. One wrinkle matters here. A municipal police department may hold the original image even after the person landed at WCDC. DPSCS handles state-custody questions, though it does not promise a county photo or a routine public portrait.
Local news images deserve the same caution. WBOC and WMDT can run agency-supplied pictures, evidence shots, or scene photos when a story breaks. Those are not necessarily the intake image. DelmarvaNow covers Wicomico police and court activity, but coverage varies and no dedicated booking-photo section exists there. None of these outlets replaces an official record request.
Unofficial sites make their own claims. RecentlyBooked says corrections and removal requests are free; Mugshots.com describes a no-charge legal-change process; Busted Newspaper lists correction routes. Treat those as site statements, not guarantees. Start with the official record and the court remedy. Never pay a seller just for promising deletion. And don't copy or rehost faces from a private roster, since that builds a misleading gallery after custody and legal status change.
Request a Wicomico Booking Record
Start with the county PIA page, which accepts written requests by form, letter, or email at pia@wicomicocounty.org. The office sits in the Government Office Building, 125 N. Division Street, Room 303, P.O. Box 870, Salisbury, MD 21803-0870, reachable at 410-548-4801. Expect about 30 days. The county may take longer with justification, charge reasonable fees, or decline to create a record that does not exist.
- Identify WCDC/Corrections for intake, WCSO for sheriff records, or the municipal department for its report.
- Ask for the booking record and photograph, if public, with full name, approximate date, agency, and identifier.
- Request electronic delivery and a fee estimate; ask for the legal basis of withholding and wrong-custodian redirection.
- For the outcome, use the case number and request the court disposition.

Confirm the current custodian.
Maryland guidance generally gives you the first two search hours free. The Sheriff's office posts no booking-photo price. Fruitland's Form 89 does list fees. Expect $15 per report, $1 per photograph print, and $15 for approved body-camera material. "Photograph" there does not guarantee a booking image. Ask what Fruitland actually holds and how electronic delivery is priced.
Maryland Public-Records and Photo Law
Maryland's Public Information Act allows inspection, with exceptions. Photos, investigative narratives, victim details, and protected records are not guaranteed. Juvenile police records are confidential under §3-8A-27, and sealed, shielded, expunged, court-restricted, or active-investigation material may also be off limits.
Maryland treats removal as a legal process, not a quick delete button. The path runs through Maryland Courts expungement or a correction filed with the agency itself. Photos and fingerprints tied to eligible no-charge arrests fall under §10-103.1. Keep every official paper. Free channels exist for this. Paid-removal pitches are best ignored, since they cannot fix the source record.
Once the record changes at the source, Google's outdated-content refresh can update stale search results. A live record, though, stays put. WCSO publishes no roster retention schedule. Case Search lists Wicomico criminal coverage from August 7, 2000. Cases linger unless legally restricted. The State Archives history covers jail facilities from 1878. The Naylor Mill Road complex came later, built in 1990. It is no booking-photo archive, but the official court resource lays out the court-first route.

Eligibility depends on charge, disposition, date, and current law; official forms control.
Wicomico Arrest Warrants and Most Wanted
Wicomico County runs no public warrant-search portal. Case Search hints at case activity, yet it cannot confirm an active warrant on its own. Call WCSO at 410-548-4891 or District Court at 410-713-3500. The 24-hour commissioner station sits at 411 B Naylor Mill Road, 410-548-7030. A lawyer works too. Never approach a wanted person yourself.
For names and faces, the Sheriff's live Most Wanted page is the official starting point, with profiles, images, and tip actions that update often. Crime Solvers takes tips at 410-548-1776. WBOC's archive offers past news coverage rather than the current wanted list, so treat the sheriff's wanted interface as the freshest Wicomico source.

Profiles change, so the capture documents only the interface; wanted status is not guilt.
After a Wicomico County Arrest
Central Booking takes in everyone arrested in Wicomico County. From there, a District Court commissioner reviews each case around the clock. That first review covers probable cause and bond. No published timetable links an arrest to a roster post or a final result. The court sits at 201 Baptist Street in Salisbury. Its number is 410-713-3500, and the commissioner station is the right contact for the earliest judicial stage, though it is not a public booking feed.
Once the roster shows a name, turn to Maryland Case Search. Try an exact full name first. When spelling is uncertain, the official FAQ allows a partial last-name query built from the first character and a percent sign. A docket can list amended charges, hearings, a plea, an acquittal, a dismissal, nolle prosequi, stet, probation before judgment, a sentence of guilt, or another outcome. Only the court record answers what happened. Case Search is informational and carries no booking-photo gallery.
Documents beyond the online docket go through the Wicomico Circuit Court clerk at 101 N. Division Street, Courthouse Room 105, Salisbury, 410-543-6551. Routine requests may move quickly. Technical, bulk, or archived files can take longer. District and Circuit clerks hold different cases, so ask which office has the file before sending one request everywhere.
Why does a case persist after the roster drops a name? The roster tracks current custody only, with no published rule for how long entries stay. The docket follows the case itself. Release from jail erases nothing. Booked and released are custody milestones, while the court record carries the legal outcome.
County, State, Federal, and ICE Custody
WCDC lists a maximum capacity of 509. It holds people awaiting trial plus county sentences up to 18 months. Someone serving a Maryland state sentence belongs in the DPSCS locator, not the fresh-booking search. The BOP locator covers federal inmates back to 1982 and posts no booking photos. ICE tracks its own custody and some recent CBP releases. Wicomico announced a 287(g) intention in 2025. Maryland's February 2026 change then barred local deputization. It blocked that step for federal civil immigration enforcement while keeping limited detainer, notification, and transfer activity. No current agreement should be assumed.
| Status | Source | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Current county custody | WCSO/WCDC | No complete history |
| Released | Agency, VINE, court | Roster absence is inconclusive |
| State sentence | DPSCS | Not a county feed |
| Federal sentence | BOP | No public photo field |
| ICE/CBP custody | ICE | Separate federal scope |
Match the locator to the custody authority. Use it to verify custody, follow notifications, understand a case, or support a lawful records request.
How Central Booking Works
Central Booking sits between the arresting agency and WCDC custody. It is the intake point. Maryland's county-government description lists Central Booking, Community Corrections, and the Detention Center as separate corrections units. The department receives and processes arrests pending judicial review. So an arrest record can exist before the roster posts a searchable custody card. Judicial review can then change release or continued custody.
The commissioner station at 411 B Naylor Mill Road never closes. Round-the-clock access is not a posting schedule, though. No official source says how many minutes pass between arrival, intake, the booking photo, charge entry, commissioner review, and online publication. A same-night search may come up empty. Note the time you searched. Then check the roster again, call the relevant office, or use the targeted records process. Never borrow an aggregator timestamp as the county's arrest or posting time.
The 509-bed capacity explains why the roster mixes custody situations. Some people await trial there. Others serve county sentences of up to 18 months. Capacity is not occupancy. Not everyone arrested locally stays, either, since a summons, quick release, transfer, state sentence, federal matter, or Delmar arrest across the state line sends a case down another record path.
Note: Central Booking, roster publication, commissioner review, and court disposition are separate milestones, and Wicomico publishes no universal timetable.
Older Booking Records and Archives
For older files, think custody first. The county's older booking and WCDC records sit most likely with Corrections. Sheriff records belong to WCSO, which also runs the portal. A report from Salisbury, Fruitland, or Delmar Police stays with that department. That holds unless it names a different holder. State-sentenced files go to DPSCS. Case outcomes rest with the District or Circuit Court clerk.
Make your request specific. Give the custodian a date range to search. If a record was destroyed or moved, ask which retention schedule applied. Also ask whether the booking photo is kept. Ask whether records can be sent electronically, and whether any named exception blocks release. That beats trusting a stale third-party profile as proof the government still publishes a record. Maryland Case Search's August 7, 2000 coverage date for Wicomico criminal cases applies only to the court portal. It does not apply to the jail roster.
The State Archives can assist once a record series and its transfer are confirmed. Its files note an 1878 county jail. They also note a 1936 replacement, and the 1990 move to Naylor Mill Road. That history is useful context. But it does not show that old booking photos were ever digitized. When an official agency corrects or pulls material, clean up any leftover search-engine cache afterward. Do not keep republishing content the government has disputed.
Note: Online persistence, agency retention, archival transfer, and legal availability are four different questions.
